For the account owner

Get your code: Log into your NJBEST account access, click on the beneficiary’s name and locate your unique Ugift code.

Share securely: Share this code with friends and family via email, social media, or even printed on party invitations.

For the gifter

Visit Ugift: The gift-giver visits Ugift529.com.

Enter the code: They enter the unique Ugift code you provided.

Contribute: Friends and family can make their gift contribution securely via electronic check or by mailing a check. They can even set up recurring contributions.

It's that simple. The gift is deposited directly into your NJBEST account.

  • Anyone Can Contribute: Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends can all help you save.

  • NJ Tax Benefits: For New Jersey taxpayers, contributions to an NJBEST plan of up to $10,000 per year are tax-deductible.2 This benefit applies to the person making the contribution.

The New Jersey College Affordability Act allows for a state tax deduction for contributions into a Franklin Templeton 529 College Savings Plan of up to $10,000 per year, for those with gross income of $200,000 or less. The maximum deduction is $10,000. Because each investor’s circumstances are different, please consult your tax professional for more information about considerations that may be relevant to your particular situation.
